Can bubbles help pollinate flowers? Discover the science with Dr Zigs.
Our Bubble Pollinator Kit is an unusual educational gift that combines bubbles, flowers and hands-on discovery. Learn why pollinators matter, collect pollen from flowers and explore how pollen can be carried by specially prepared bubbles.
The idea began with a question from Zen, aged 12: Could bubbles pollinate flowers? That curiosity inspired Dr Zigs to develop a kit that makes pollination science something children and grown-ups can explore together.
What's inside?
100ml bottle of Dr Zigs Pollinator Bubble Mix
Brush for collecting pollen from flowers
Bamboo cup for collecting and holding pollen
Bamboo straw for making bubbles
Instructions and an educational booklet about pollination
Why it's a special gift
Science through play: Explore pollen, flowers and how pollination works through a practical activity.
Connect with nature: Find out why bees and other pollinators are important and what helps them thrive.
Thoughtfully chosen materials: The kit includes a bamboo cup and straw, a small brush and our plant-based pollinator bubble mix.
How to get started
Follow the booklet to collect pollen, prepare the bubbles and experiment with flowers. This is an educational exploration, not a guaranteed method of pollinating every flower: results depend on the flower species and conditions.
Care: Empty, rinse and dry the bamboo accessories after use. Don't leave natural-material parts soaking or storing liquid for extended periods. Follow the safety and age guidance provided with the kit.

Fun and learning!
So much fun, and the kids have loved it. I have learnt a lot too! We have spent hours with this kit already, and even used it in the winter. Who knew how many plants reproduce even in winter. It's amazing.
