Bubble Therapy - Bubbles and PTSD

Four years ago my world was completely turned on it’s head, my 3 month old son died and life as I knew it would never be the same again. As a result I suffered PTSD and my mental health took a severe decline. Day to day living became a difficult thing. Then I discovered Dr Zigs.

Now I’m not about to tell you that using Dr Zigs miraculously cured my PTSD but it has helped tremendously with my mental health.

It gave me a focus, a reason to leave the house and see the joy on my children’s faces. At first I took the bubbles out for them but the more I used them the more I realised how much they were benefiting me too. There’s something so cathartic about them.

I find myself embracing the moment, getting lost in the moment and suddenly all of those thoughts that plague me day to day for a brief moment disappear, they melt away. It’s a moment for my brain to rest and escape from the torment, just be present and relax.

Watching the bubbles change shape, dance around the sky, seeing the reflection of the surroundings in them really just gives me that time to be present, appreciate the beauty and reflect on the fragility of everything around us. In a moment that bubble could pop and cease to exist, much like life.

Not just that but it allows me that control, gives me that independence. This is something that I can do for me that doesn’t require me to sit and talk about everything that’s going on. Obviously if I feel like I want to I can but I also don’t have to.

Every year we make a point of taking the bubbles out in memory of Ethan and just letting the bubbles blow.

So, if you’re having a bad day or just want some time to recharge, why not try grabbing your bubbles and getting outside to see how they can make a difference for you.
