That was Ziggy’s question as I returned from the Spielwarenmesse, the Nuremberg international toy fair. One of the perks of doing trade shows is the chance to go home with a couple of cool pressies for the kids - and so, there I was with gifts for Ziggy, my now 14 year old. He is the namesake, and very much the boss of Dr Zigs, and he is the reason I started the company.
In the Bên Tre region, Southern Vietnam, local farmers have earned a living for years selling coconut by-products such as coconut oils and coconut milks. Once the shells/husks had been stripped for their favourable insides, they were previously discarded. Now these farmers are no longer burning empty coconut husks; they’re making a second income making Dr Zigs fabulously sized Bubble Buckets! Once the Shells are cleaned and prepped we have them beautifully etched with an intricate pattern and of course — No chemicals or pesticides are used to grow these coconuts, which means they’re safe to be used for food too so after you’ve cleaned our Bubble Mix out of your new Bucket , you could fill it with fruit, noodles, cereals etc.
