Dydd Santes Dwynwen Hapus - Happy St Dwynwen's day to all - and a Bubble Gift for lovers
Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen hapus i pawb!
Today is St Dwynwen’s day, the day of lovers, of love, of cariad and cwtch, and of something beautifully Welsh.
The tale of Santes Dwynwen is a magical one, dating back through poems to the 14th and 16th century. Dwynwen was a Welsh princess, the most beautiful daughter of Brychan, a powerful king. She fell in love against her father’s wishes, and her love was tragically thwarted in a tale involving God and angels, magic potions and a block of ice. Eventually Dwynwen was granted wishes, and she wished to remain unmarried, but for God to look after all true lovers. To celebrate this, she built a convent on Ynys Llandwyn – one of the most beautiful places in the world, one which you’ll see in many of our Bubble pictures – and a site of pilgrimage for all Welsh lovers.
Today, to celebrate we’re re-launching our ‘Love-a-Bubble’ Kit. And as a special extra we’ve got our vintage label too. The bubble mix is pink of course, and the bubbles, well, they may or may not contain a magic love potion. Or it may just be the bubbles.
Our kit will be on sale from now through to St Valentine’s day on the 14th of February. So why not #sharethebubblelove and give that someone special in your life a totally unique gift of ‘Bubble Love’
Love, and Bubble Love, makes the world go round. And make it a much happier place too.
